Authenticity: Does Neophyte Joe act like a Duck or a Dog?

by Angie A. Swartz on February 16, 2009

The first thing I read today was Seth Godin’s post on Authenticity. He says that “If it acts like a duck , it’s a duck. It doesn’t matter if the duck thinks it’s a dog, it’s still a duck as far as the rest of us are concerned.”

Seth gives the example of Mother Theresa who was an Atheist but used her actions to define herself.  Further, he says, “Authenticity, for me, is doing what you promise, not “being who you are”.  His post is really fabulous and discusses how we’re all filled with self doubt but our actions can easily drown out negative self talk.  You must go read it for yourself.seth Authenticity: Does Neophyte Joe act like a Duck or a Dog?
